“Every sound is a source of potential and a part of the performance. It’s music, but not as we’ve known it. Think Brian Eno’s Music for Airports and Radiohead’s Kid A” – a review of my music by journalist Neil Laurenson.
I’m a musician, usually working in the ambient, electronic, and post-rock genres. I am currently enjoying the never-ending project that is building my own modular synthesiser, rewiring obsolete electronics to make cool noises, and looping sounds on tape. I perform both as a soloist, and as part of post-rock trio Moss Grotto.
My inspirations include Boards of Canada, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Sea Power, and the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack.

No Footpath – an ambient drone piece, made by looping disintegrating tape and playing it through my synthesiser.
Weorgoran – super experimental post-rock, made in conjunction with guitarist Harry Maull.
Dyatlov Pass – free live improvisation at Worcester Music Festival, with Harry on guitar again and Rich Stevenson on bass.
Live grassroots music events
As well as making and performing music, I organise and host grassroots music events as the “Drone and Tone Collective”.

These events showcase local talent, and also invite touring artists to headline and show their work to a new audience. They are hosted at venues around Worcester, from record store attics and DIY spaces to a cavernous converted church! Doing this has given me a great understanding of the local arts scene here in Worcester – it feels like every time I host an event, I make an exciting new connection!
Highlights include hosting renowned Netflix composer (of Red White and Royal Blue fame), Drum and Lace, organising a tour date for artists Minus Pilots and Good Weather for an Airstrike, and curating an entire stage of experimental music for Worcester Music Festival.

Sound design
Making noise is fun!
I’ve started making a collection of sample packs for anyone creating media (films, games, etc.), the first one – “Liminal Fog” – can be downloaded here on Itch.
